Commercial activity topped the ranking of economic activities benefiting from microfinance services, during the second quarter of 2022, in terms of the value of financing balances and the number of beneficiaries, with a value of financing balances of about 19.9 billion pounds, with a market share of 60.2% of the value of the balances, and the number of beneficiaries amounted to 2.4 One million beneficiaries, at a rate of 64.3%, compared to the same arrangement at the end of the second quarter of 2021, in which the value of financing balances amounted to 13.8 billion pounds for a number of beneficiaries that amounted to about 2.2 million beneficiaries.

According to the data of the Financial Supervisory Authority, the service activity ranked third at the end of the second quarter of 2022 in terms of the value of financing balances and the number of beneficiaries, with a value of financing balances of 4.5 billion pounds for a number of beneficiaries that amounted to about 497.2 thousand beneficiaries, compared to the end of the second quarter of 2021. In which the value of financing balances amounted to 3 billion pounds for a number of beneficiaries amounting to about 412.4 thousand beneficiaries, and the market share of financing balances for service activities occupied the third place by 13.8%, and the third place in terms of the number of beneficiaries by 13.16%.

Agricultural activity ranked second at the end of the second quarter of 2022 in terms of the value of financing balances and the number of beneficiaries, with a value of financing balances of 6.1 billion pounds, for a number of beneficiaries that amounted to about 565.8 thousand beneficiaries, compared to the end of the second quarter of 2021, in which the value of financing balances amounted to 4.1 EGP 1 billion for the number of beneficiaries, amounting to about 536,000. The market share of agricultural activity financing balances occupied the second place at 18.6%, and the second place in terms of the number of beneficiaries by 15%.

The production and craft activities ranked fourth at the end of the second quarter of 2022 in terms of the value of financing balances and the number of beneficiaries, with a value of financing balances of 2.4 billion pounds, for a number of beneficiaries that amounted to about 286.8 thousand beneficiaries, compared to the end of the second quarter of 2021, in which the value of balances amounted to Funding 1.6 billion pounds for the number of beneficiaries amounting to about 205.2 thousand beneficiaries, and the market share of funds for financing service activity occupied the third place by 7.4%, and the third place in terms of the number of beneficiaries by 7.6%.

The second quarter of 2022 witnessed a remarkable growth in the value of medium, small and microfinance balances, by 45% to reach 32.9 billion pounds, compared to the end of the same period last year, which amounted to 22.5 billion pounds, and the number of beneficiaries increased by 13.8% to reach 3.8 million beneficiaries at the end of the second quarter of 2022 compared to about 3.3 million beneficiaries during the same quarter of last year.
