During the meeting, the Minister of International Cooperation discussed ways to enhance joint economic cooperation axes to support the national development vision, as well as discussing trade and investment relations within the framework of the Egyptian state’s keenness to strengthen its joint relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners.
The Minister of International Cooperation reviewed the framework of international cooperation and development financing for the Arab Republic of Egypt and the strong relations that Egypt enjoys with all development partners, noting the role played by the Ministry to strengthen economic relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners and regional and international organizations to support the national development vision in line with The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, where the current portfolio of development cooperation records $26 billion for the implementation of 372 projects. It is a huge portfolio that reflects the distinguished relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and development partners, and part of it is directed to the private sector, whether in the form of investments, credit lines for commercial banks or development finance, in addition to To technical support and grants directed to capacity building and preparation of studies.
The Minister of International Cooperation stressed that Egypt is working to enhance efforts to exchange knowledge, experiences and development experiences through development cooperation mechanisms, pointing out that Egypt is making huge development efforts within the framework of its vision to achieve sustainable development and promote the transition to a green economy through the expansion of projects of adaptation and mitigation with changes. climatic.
Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, is participating in the meetings of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is being held in New York, under the slogan “Solutions through Solidarity, Sustainability and Science”, amid unprecedented global repercussions due to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, and the economic effects of the Corona pandemic, where she discusses The meetings dealt with a number of important issues that concern the international community, on top of which are food insecurity, the energy price crisis, and global supply chain disruptions.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of International Cooperation, in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Environment, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, organized the Egypt-ICF2022 Forum, in its second edition, and the meeting of African Ministers of Economy, Finance and Environment, under the auspices and presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. , where it witnessed a high-level international and regional presence from United Nations organizations, heads of international financial institutions, and the private sector.
With the participation of more than 23 African governments, about 20 discussion sessions, workshops and round tables were held on unifying messages and visions, to mobilize the efforts of the international community to support the climate agenda in the continent of Africa, and to prepare for the “Finance Day”.
