Today, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Major General Ashraf Daoudi, Governor of Qena, visited the school complex of the Al-Noor Institute for the Blind and the School of Intellectual Education, to inspect the technological development work carried out by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to facilitate the educational process for students with visual and intellectual disabilities. They were received by Dr. Abdel Moneim El Sharkawy, President of the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had provided the Al Noor Institute for the Blind School Complex and the School of Intellectual Education with some specialized technological programs, and supported it with a number of computers and printers for the necessity of the educational process and training for students.

during the visit; Dr. Amr Talaat met with a number of educational leaders and teachers in Qena governorate, who were trained during the months of August and September on the educational integration program, assistive technology applications and the technological skills development program, among nearly 500 trainees in the governorate, as part of the implementation of the first phase of the cooperation protocol between The Ministries of Communications and Information Technology, and Education and Technical Education, which was signed in July 2021 with the aim of supporting and developing the inputs of the educational process to improve services provided to students with disabilities. The project aims to train 100,000 teachers and rehabilitate 1,600 schools, at an estimated cost of 150 million pounds to be borne by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. .
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s plan to support the educational process for persons with disabilities. The two ministries had previously cooperated in a project to develop the educational process for persons with disabilities, which in its early stages included support for 810 schools of special education and integration; This is in addition to training nearly 30,000 teachers nationwide.

Dr. Amr Talaat also listened to a speech from the students, during which they pointed out the importance of technological means and their role in facilitating and making the educational process available to students with disabilities. The Minister directed towards continuing to provide more support to students and responding to their demands.

Dr. Amr Talaat and Major General Ashraf El-Dawdy visited the Telecom Egypt customer service center in Qena West. They were received by Eng. Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, and a number of the company’s executive leaders.
The center provides a number of telecommunications services to citizens, including fixed land line services, fixed internet services, and services added to fixed internet services, in addition to mobile services, e-wallet services, domain reservation services and web hosting.
It also provides mobile services for companies, selling mobile, landline and internet devices and accessories of all kinds, and installment service for mobile devices and fixed internet in cooperation with the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr. The branch accepts electronic government payments for fixed and mobile internet services.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Amr Talaat visited Qena Governorate this morning to inaugurate and inspect a number of projects of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the villages of the Good Life Initiative in the governorate. The Minister inspected the works of laying fiber-optic cables to provide high-speed Internet services in one of Hayat Karima villages in Qena, and also opened four post offices after their development.
The visit also witnessed a visit to the Digital Egypt Creativity Center in South Valley, and the signing of 4 memoranda of understanding to achieve digital transformation in the governorate’s general office, achieve digital community development for citizens, enhance digital culture for the people of villages for a decent life in the governorate, and build the capacities of the governorate’s youth.
