Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Industry and Trade, said today, Monday, that the Kingdom of Bahrain launched the Industry Sector Strategy 2022-2026 as an important part of the economic recovery plan, which includes 5 main axes, including strengthening national industries and investing in infrastructure.
During the opening of the Arab Steel Summit, the Bahraini Minister of Industry added that the strategy includes improving the investors’ experience, guiding Bahrainis professionally, and updating legislation and laws, which aim to raise the gross domestic product of the industrial sector, increase the sector’s exports of national origin, and provide promising opportunities for citizens.
The 15th Arab Steel Summit, organized by the Arab Iron and Steel Union, is honored in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, Egypt, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the union.
Egypt was chosen to be the guest of honor at the summit in appreciation of its role in establishing and hosting the first general assembly of the Arab Iron and Steel Union in 1972.
Engineer Ahmed Ezz, founder and president of Ezz Steel Group, representing Egypt and a pioneer in the iron and steel industry in the Arab world, was honored. Hassan Noah, Managing Director of Ezz Steel, received the award on his behalf.
The 15th Arab Steel Summit, organized by the Arab Iron and Steel Union, will be held on 7 and 8 November in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, under the patronage of Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
When it was established, the Arab Iron and Steel Union included 13 companies, as the number of member companies doubled to 92 companies from 17 countries. The production of member companies represents about 90% of Arab steel production, and Arab production of crude steel reached 32 million tons in 2021 and exceeded 36 million tons. of the final products.
