Digging 53 wells.. All you need to know about oil production in Khalida fields within a year

The petroleum sector aims to intensify programs and plans to increase oil production in cooperation and coordination with foreign partners, and to continue pumping more new investments to develop discoveries and put them on production.

The company is also intensifying drilling and exploration programs to achieve new discoveries that support Egypt’s production and reserves of natural gas and petroleum through an integrated work system that is compatible with the procedures and requirements of occupational safety, health and environmental protection, according to statements by Engineer Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

Below is all the information on Khalida’s oil production during 2021/2022.

1- The average daily production during the year amounted to about 111,000 barrels of crude oil and condensates, 583 million cubic feet of gas per day, and 713 barrels of butane.

2- The company made eight oil discoveries during the year, with a success rate of 50%.

3- The seismic data reprocessing program for the Khaleda Hills area has been completed, with an area of ​​about 4 thousand km2, in addition to the completion of 65% of the seismic data reprocessing program (PSTM) for the Matrouh-West Knais area with an area of ​​about 4.2 thousand km2.

4- During the year, 53 wells were drilled with the aim of increasing production through the development of proven reserves and confirmation of potential and possible reserves.

5- 93 re-completion operations were carried out, in addition to the completion of drilling and completion of 10 exploratory wells.

6- The company established oil and gas lines with total lengths of 100 km in record time, which contributed to the early return of production rates.

7- Implementation of several production facilities and gas compressors to exploit the associated emitted gases.
