Barcelona received four bad news on the first day of the Nations League matches in the ongoing September international break.
This came after Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay were injured in the Netherlands-Poland match.
This is in addition to the injuries of Jules Conde and Ousmane Dembele in the France-Austria match.
“I don’t see Depay playing against Belgium because of the injury,” Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal said after the match.
And about De Jong, he said: “His replacement was a precaution.”
“De Jong felt a tension in his muscles, so I decided to replace him, but he told me that he expects to play against Belgium.”
As for the French national team, Duke coach Didier Deschamps announced Conde’s absence from the Denmark match.
Conde was substituted after an injury during the first half of the match.
As for Dembele, French press reports mentioned that he ended the match feeling some muscle pain.
It is worth noting that the Netherlands defeated Poland with two goals without a response, the same result that France defeated Austria.
The two teams play in Group A of the European Nations League.
Only one round of the tournament remains at the end of the current season, and the group stage will conclude next Sunday.
With this result, France’s tally reached five points, taking them to third place in the standings, while Austria’s balance froze at four points, occupying the fourth and last place in the group.
Croatia leads the group with 10 points, one point ahead of second-placed Denmark.
