Marco Asensio expressed his anger at Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Mallorca for not participating, throwing a warm-up shirt and kicking a water bottle.
Asensio sat on the bench and did not participate in the match and acted in this way after making sure that he did not participate after the end of Real Madrid’s substitutions.
And the newspaper AS described what Asensio did as a bad gesture from the Spanish player against coach Carlo Ancelotti in the 70th minute, after the last changes were made by the royal team.
Ancelotti made his first substitutions in the 59th minute, when the duo Nacho and Luka Modric replaced Ferland Mendy and Eden Hazard.
After 10 minutes, Ancelotti pushed Eduardo Camavinga instead of Dani Ceballos, and in the 71st minute, the Italian coach made his last attempts at substitutions with one change, with Dani Carvajal coming in instead of Lucas Vazquez.
After Asensio made sure not to participate after the end of the three attempts with the allowed substitutions for each team, the player threw a warm-up shirt and kicked a water bottle before sitting angry on the bench.
After Ancelotti made his substitutions, Vinicius Junior scored the goal in the 72nd minute after a wonderful pass from Rodrygo.
Real Madrid killed the match in the last minutes with goals from Rodrygo and Antonio Rudiger in the 89th and 93rd minutes, respectively.
Ancelotti participated as a substitute in only two matches this season, 7 minutes in the Spanish League, and 10 minutes in the Champions League.
Real Madrid is preparing for its next match against Red Bull Leipzig in the second round of the group stage of the Champions League.
Asensio’s contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the season.
