Spain coach Luis Enrique signed the provisional list of 55 players that the Spanish Football Federation will send to the International Federation “FIFA”, and the final list (26 players) will be chosen from among these names.
This came according to the Spanish newspaper “AS”, which revealed some elements of the list, most notably goalkeepers, where Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was removed from the list permanently.
Enrique chose 5 guards initially, although he is almost stable on the identity of the trio who will go with him to Qatar.
This trio is Unai Simon (Athletic Bilbao), Robert Sanchez (Brighton) and David Raya (Brentford), while the list also includes Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea) and David Soria (Getafe).
Barcelona full back Alejandro Balde is on the tentative list, but he remains behind his colleague Jordi Alba and Jose Gaya, the Valencia back.
Barcelona winger Ansu Fati and Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal, who are still in doubt, are in the final list, especially the last one who is still injured.
Also present are Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, Real Betis duo Borja Iglesias and Sergio Canales.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos is also present, despite great doubts about his presence in the final list that Enrique will announce on November 11, and this applies to Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas.
At Enrique’s request, the provisional list will not be published publicly, unlike several teams announced recently.
Spain will play its first World Cup match against Costa Rica on November 23, in Group E, which includes Germany and Japan.
