Al-Ahly – Al-Ittihad of Alexandria – Ahmed Ismail – Egypt Basketball Cup Final

The draw for the Arab Men’s Club Championship No. 34 was held this afternoon, scheduled to be held in Kuwait from 5 to 15 October 2022.

Al-Ahly and Al-Ittihad clubs will participate in the Arab Men’s Championship, where Al-Ahly will participate as the title holder, and Al-Ittihad will participate as a representative of Egyptian basketball in the tournament in which 16 Arab teams participate.

The draw for the Arab Men’s Championship was held in the presence of Magdy Abu Farikha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Basketball Federation and Vice President of the Arab Federation, Brigadier Abdullah Shalaby, Secretary General of the Arab Basketball Federation, and Director General of the Arab Basketball Federation, Sherif Ahmed Zaki.

The Arab Federation divided the teams into 4 groups, with each group comprising 4 teams, with the tournament host placed at the top of the first group, while the title holder was placed at the top of the second group, taking into account that no more than one team from the same country was present in one group.

The groups were as follows:

Group One: Al-Kuwait Sports Club – Al-Ittihad of Alexandria – Al-Ahly Aleppo Al-Syria – Al-Ahly Bani Ghazi.

Group Two: Al-Ahly of Egypt – the Lebanese Riyadi – Al-Gharafa of Qatar – Al-Mina Al-Yemeni.

Group C: Bahrain’s Al-Ahly – Omani Al-Bashaer Sports Club – Kazma Sports Club – Qatari Al-Sadd.

Group D: Jahra Sports – Beirut Lebanon – Wedad Boufarik of Algeria – Tigris University of Iraq.

The Alexandrian Union is the most crowned champion with 7 titles, followed by the Lebanese athlete with 5 titles.

Al-Ahly won the championship title for the first time in its history in the last edition, which was held in Alexandria, after defeating Kuwait.
