Tala’a El-Geish team achieved a fatal victory over Zamalek in the first leg of the men’s basketball quarter-finals.
The army defeated Zamalek 62-61 with a deadly triple scored by Youssef El-Madawy in the last seconds.
Al-Ahly, Al-Ittihad and Al-Jazira clubs also won the first leg.
The second leg of the quarter-finals will be held on Saturday 12 November.
The results of the quarter-final first leg were as follows:
Al-Ahly × Sporting
Al-Ahly team defeated Sporting in the U-16 competition with a score of 79-71 in the first leg.
Al-Ahly’s men’s team also won against Sporting 74-55, so that Al-Ahmar needed the victory of the linked team only to qualify for the semi-finals.
Etihad × Telecom Egypt
A team linked to Al Ittihad U-16 managed to beat Telecom Egypt 72-68.
The Al-Ittihad men’s team also achieved a deserved victory with a score of 98-66, so that the green team needed the victory of the linked team only to qualify for the semi-finals.
Zamalek × Vanguard of the Army
The Zamalek U-16 associate achieved an exciting victory at the expense of the Vanguards of the Army, with a score of 59-57.
While the men’s team, Tala’a El-Geish, snatched a victory at the expense of Zamalek, with a score of 62-61 in the last seconds, with a fatal triple scored by Youssef El-Madawy.
