Hernan Rodriguez, Caracas media official, praised the player Samson Aquinola, whose official transfer to Zamalek will be announced during the current summer transfer market.
The Caracas club media official indicated that Samson’s departure is a loss not only for his club, but also for football in Venezuela.
Hernan Rodriguez said on Al-Hayat channel: “Samson has been playing for Caracas for the past two years, and he was one of the best players, he scored 18 goals.”
“Samson won the Venezuelan league top scorer award last year, and Samson also participated in the continental championship,” the Caracas media official added.
He explained, “Samson was born in 2000, and therefore he is 22 years old. He is a very smart player who has skills, and depending on the course of the match, he can play as a striker or as a winger.”
“Samson was not only an important player for Caracas but for the Venezuelan league, and it is a loss for football here in Venezuela,” Hernan stressed.
And the Caracas media official concluded his statements, “In the past, there were reports of him joining the Venezuelan national team, but recently he received an invitation from the Benin national team, and I expect him to go after coming to Egypt.”
Aquinola was born in Porto-Novo, the capital of Benin, in March 2000. He also holds Nigerian citizenship.
Aquinola started his career in Nigeria’s Lyon 36, then played on loan for Slovakian Danajska.
Aquinola’s European adventure continued by moving to Slovakian Seneca in the summer of 2019, where he scored 5 goals in 21 matches he played.
Aquinola moved to South America to join Caracas in January 2021.
Aquinola scored 28 goals and assisted 11 in the 67 matches he played with Caracas so far.
Aquinola played 9 games in total in the Copa Libertadores, during which he scored 4 goals.
Aquinola has never represented the first Benin national team, but joined his country’s squad for the first time in the September international break.
Aquinola had previously represented the Benin youth team, before drawing attention in the Venezuelan League and winning the nickname “The Bull”.
And 90min reported at the end of last year that the player was receiving attention from the clubs of the American and Mexican leagues.
