Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Al-Ahly defender, wore a face shield during the team’s training at the Touch Stadium today, Thursday.
Al-Ahly continues its preparations for the quarter-finals of the Egypt Cup for the last edition, which is scheduled for November 27.
Abdel Moneim sought the help of a face shield after he performed surgery to repair warps and fractures in the nose under the supervision of a professor specializing in maxillofacial surgery.
Abdel Moneim ran around the stadium and implemented some paragraphs within his rehabilitation program to gradually prepare his return to participate in group training.
Al-Ahly will run its training today in two periods, while tomorrow, Friday, it will return to one period, according to the program set by the technical staff.
Today’s training session was preceded by a lecture held by Marcel Koller, the team’s technical director, with the players inside the team, to talk about all technical aspects and explain the training program he wishes to implement.
The players went through a physical part before applying the tactical aspects, during which the technical staff is keen to implement them during the session.
The duo, Aliou Diang and Ammar Hamdi, also performed rehabilitative exercises before participating in group exercises.
As Diang performed individual exercises within the program to prepare him for his return, after he complained of a back muscle injury during the last period.
Ammar Hamdi went a long way in returning to group participation, after he reached the last stage of the qualifying program.
Ammar Hamdi will undergo a medical examination during the next week to determine his gradual participation in the training.
