FilGoal | News | Tuchel’s farewell message: I was shocked by the end of my time with Chelsea

German Thomas Tuchel published a farewell message after his departure from Chelsea coach.

Chelsea announced earlier that it had terminated its contract with German coach Thomas Tuchel after the last loss against Dinamo Zagreb at the start of the group stage of the Champions League with a goal without a response.

“It’s one of the most difficult statements I’ve ever had to write,” Thomas Tuchel said on his Twitter account.

“I was hoping I wouldn’t need to write it for so many years, I’m shocked that my time at Chelsea is over.”

“This is a club where I felt at home professionally and personally, thank you very much to all the staff, players and fans for making me feel very welcome from the start.”

“The pride and joy I felt in helping the team win the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup will stay with me forever.”

“I am honored to be a part of the history of this club and the memories of the past 19 months will always remain in a special place in my heart.”

Tuchel took over Chelsea in January 2021, winning the European Champions League, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup with the Blues.

The 49-year-old supervised Chelsea’s training in 99 matches, during which he achieved 62 wins, 19 draws and 18 losses.

Chelsea scored 196 goals and conceded 105.

Thomas Tuchel is the second coach to be sacked in the Premier League this season after Bournemouth coach Scott Parker, after which Graham Potter will take over the Blues coach in the coming period.
