Imad Hamdy: The manufacture of car tires is consistent with the vision of localizing the industry with the Start initiative

Engineer Imad Hamdy, member of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, head of the General Syndicate of Chemicals, confirmed that the manufacture of car tires in Egypt, through one or more factories, is consistent with the state’s vision and the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to localize the industry, thus reducing the import bill and increasing exports, and providing About $2 billion annually worth of tires and various vehicles are imported from abroad.

Imad Hamdy praised the national initiatives launched by President Sisi to support the national industry, starting with the economic conference, and then launching the Start Industry Initiative, which will serve as a strong starting point for the industry.

Hamdy added to “The Seventh Day”, that Egypt has great experience in the field of manufacturing vehicle tires, through transportation and engineering factories, the historic “Eagle” brand, which used to manufacture tires for all Egyptian vehicles in the past years, pointing out that the basis for the development and modernization of transport and engineering factories needs to Global expertise possesses high technology, especially that the local and African market needs those tires with high technology as an alternative to importing from abroad.

He explained that hiring a global partner with experience in the manufacture of car tires; Contributes to the localization of a national industry, especially since Egypt has various trade agreements with various countries of the world, explaining that 7 million tires can be manufactured annually in Egypt in several stages to meet the needs of the local market and export, while accommodating more than one tire factory.
