Karam Gabr, head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, said: “Indeed, there is a draft memorandum of cooperation that must be studied between the Egyptian and Emirati sides, in order for there to be a correct mechanism for cooperation in the field of technological means. And the relationship between them is deeper than anything.”
This came in a session entitled “Arab media cooperation: the UAE and Egypt as a model”, which was held within the activities of the Media Cultural Forum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Emirati-Egyptian relations.
Meanwhile, Diaa Rashwan, head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate, expressed his happiness with this celebration, and with this crowd, saying: “The Emirati press originated with the presence of Egyptian professors, and certainly the UAE reserves this credit for them, and the Emirati press has been established with Egyptian help until this moment, and a large number of Egyptian journalists are present in the Emirates And a large number of Egyptian journalists spent decades and were present in the press institutions there.”
Rashwan continued: “There is an important note, that the fifty years of cooperation between Egypt and the Emirates, I never remembered that an Egyptian journalist or media person wrote against the Emirates or vice versa, despite the visions that may be different in a few times.” He said: “In everything related to the Emirati press, There is a prominent Egyptian presence, and integration always exists, and political and professional differences also exist, but integration exists.”
Diaa Rashwan concluded his words in the session, saying: “The new generation of journalists is more aware of the depth of relations between Egypt and the UAE, and the exchange of cultural relations between the two countries contributed to this, and with more work we will see fruitful cooperation, as the Egyptian-Emirati model is a model for the world to follow. Arabi”.
While Saeed Al Eter, head of the media office of the UAE government, stressed that “media cooperation between Egypt and the UAE continues, not only at the level of the media, but at the level of many institutions,” saying that “the past fifty years have been essential cooperation, and we must think about the fifty years.” and what will be the form of cooperation.”
In the session moderated by the media, Mona El-Shazly, Al-Attar indicated: “For example, last year we trained content makers from Egypt, and there is also cooperation at the level of television production that is fully ongoing, and we have to rely on creating content and stories that bring the two peoples closer, because this is the main guarantor for the continued rapprochement between the two peoples. The two peoples and the media process must be completed.”
