Nevin Jameh: The Enterprise Development Authority is implementing an ambitious plan to encourage exports

Nevin Gamea, CEO of the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprise Development Agency, confirmed the agency’s keenness to implement the state’s directives to develop the productivity and capabilities of small enterprises to cover the needs of the local market and obtain export opportunities, and indicated that the agency is working to implement an ambitious strategy to market the products of small business owners abroad. Through cooperation with many major global trading platforms and benefiting from their experiences and capabilities to export the products of youth projects electronically or through the participation of the agency in many international exhibitions, and providing the opportunity for small business owners to display their products abroad and conclude export contracts.

This came during her speech at the signing event of the “Export Step Training Project” agreement, which is being implemented in cooperation between the Enterprise Development Authority, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and the Foreign Trade Training Center of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Under the auspices of the League of Arab States and in the presence of Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Engineer Hani Sonbol, CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iftaas 2 Program, a group of ministers and Saqr bin Abdullah Al-Muqbil, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the World Trade Organization Geneva.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the second phase of the Aid for Trade Initiative program for Arab countries (IFTIAS 2), where Dr. Raafat Abbas, Head of the Central Sector for Non-Financial Services, signed the agreement on behalf of the Enterprise Development Authority.

Gamea emphasized that the signed partnership agreement came within the framework of the Enterprise Development Agency’s keenness to implement the state’s plan and the political leadership’s directives to raise Egyptian exports rates, and to cooperate and coordinate with all concerned institutions to support and support small projects to raise the quality of their products and open new markets for them in various countries of the world.

Jameh explained that coordination has been made between the Enterprise Development Agency and the Ministry of Trade and Industry represented by the Foreign Trade Training Center with the aim of implementing a program to train and qualify 600 owners of existing or new medium, small and micro enterprises who wish to move towards export and already have a globally required competitive product with a focus on productive projects. and agricultural industrialization, with funding from the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation with the aim of creating a new generation of exporters and developing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in global markets by providing a distinguished product that enjoys quality and competitiveness, and the consequent increase in productivity and capacity for operation.

Jameh added that another partnership agreement will be signed with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation to train and rehabilitate 50 women owners of small handicraft and heritage projects who participated in the activities of the Heritage Exhibition for handicrafts and heritage and other owners of handicrafts and heritage projects in order to develop their products and enhance their ability to compete in foreign markets from Through training them on marketing skills, product photography, negotiation skills, and creating brands, as well as providing them with the necessary funds for expansion and development, in addition to helping them join the formal sector.

The CEO of the Enterprise Development Authority indicated that signing agreements and protocols with international bodies aims to enhance the capabilities of the agency, implement the axes of the national program for the development of projects, create the necessary environment to encourage them, motivate citizens to enter the labor market through these projects, and spread and encourage a culture of entrepreneurship, research and creativity. innovation, and coordinating the efforts of all stakeholders in this field.
