Planning: Al Gharbia is at the forefront of the advanced projects of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects


Egypt launched the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, which represents an unprecedented initiative at the national and global level, which aims to empower all governorates and localities in Egypt and reach different social and geographical groups to participate in the presentation of their projects.

The door to submitting the initiative was closed on September 16, and Gharbia governorate came at the forefront of the governorates in terms of the number of projects developed in the initiative, with a total of 1277 projects, and Cairo governorate ranked first in terms of completion and completion of projects.

The initiative aims to spread societal awareness about the challenges of climate change and the capabilities of technology in facing them, in addition to contributing mainly to providing “Egyptian solutions” to climate change challenges through these projects in their categories.

For the first time in Egypt, we have a database of smart green projects. Each governorate currently has full information on green projects in it. A national conference will be held in Cairo for 162 projects representing all governorates to be liquidated in the final to 18 projects (3 projects in each category), and announcing the Final results at COP 27.

Cairo is at the forefront of the governorates with respect to the total number of advanced projects in the large projects category, with 98 projects, as well as in the medium projects category with a total of 175 projects, and in the category of emerging companies projects with a total of 150 projects, and Gharbia governorate comes at the forefront of the governorates in the small local projects category with a total of 209 projects, and in the category of non-profit projects with a total of 640 projects, as well as in the category of development projects related to women, climate change and sustainability with a total of 186 projects.

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced that the number of projects submitted to the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, which comes under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi; It reached 6,281 projects representing all governorates of the Republic, after closing the door for progress for the initiative
