President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inspected this Friday afternoon the construction works to develop a number of roads and axes in Greater Cairo.
Ambassador Bassam Rady, spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the president’s tour included his inspection of the development work of the Gamal Abdel Nasser Corridor, which is one of the most vital arteries in New Cairo and east Cairo, extending to the New Administrative Capital, and is considered one of the axes with high traffic density that serves many Citizens, as it transports movement between the entrance of the Ring Road to the entrance of the New Administrative Capital from the Mohammed bin Zayed axis, which represents an alternative to the northern and southern ninety axes, as it intersects with a number of other main and important axes such as the Talaat Harb axis, the Muhammad Najeeb axis, the island axis and the transit axis .
The spokesperson added that the length of the Gamal Abdel Nasser axis is about 11 km, the width is about 45 meters, and a total of 6 lanes in each direction, after the development, which will also include solving the problems of direct intersections, so that the axis will be freed and replaced with 5 bridges.
The President reassured the workers on the progress of work as well as listening to their views, directing the need to take into account the application of standard specifications in the development of the Gamal Abdel Nasser Corridor, including traffic planning works and indicative signs for residential and service areas, taking into account the importance of this matter to ensure traffic fluidity in the Corridor as well as the axes intersecting with it. With the aim of facilitating the citizens and facilitating the smooth movement of vehicles.
