Statistics: 26.9% increase in the value of Egyptian exports to the UAE in the first half of 2022


Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed that the value of Egyptian exports to the UAE increased to $955.2 million during the first half of 2022, compared to $752.6 million during the same period in 2021, an increase of 26.9%, while the value of Egyptian imports from the UAE decreased, recording 1.3 billion. dollars during the first half of 2022 compared to 1.4 billion dollars during the same period in 2021, a decrease of 2.8%.

The statistics indicated that the value of trade exchange between Egypt and the UAE increased to $2.3 billion during the first half of 2022, compared to $2.1 billion during the same period in 2021, an increase of 7.7%.

The most important commodity groups exported by Egypt to the UAE during the first half of 2022:

1. Natural pearls and precious stones, worth $422.7 million.

2. Machines, electrical appliances and parts, with a value of $125.3 million.

3. Clothes worth $77.7 million.

4. Fruits worth 50 million dollars.

5. Vegetables and plants, worth $32 million.

6. Inorganic chemical products worth $31.8 million.

7. Essential oils worth $28.1 million.

8. Prepared vegetables worth 16.9 million dollars.

9. Furniture worth $13.9 million.

10. $11.3 Million Soap.

The most important commodity groups imported by Egypt from the UAE during the first half of 2022

1. Fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products, with a value of $297.9 million.

2. Plastics and articles thereof, with a value of $270.4 million.

3. Copper, worth $118 million.

4. Iron and Steel, $92.6 million.

5. Natural pearls and precious stones, worth $89.9 million.

6. Fish worth $68.7 million.

7. Boilers, machines, devices and machine tools, with a value of 50 million dollars.

8. Aluminum and articles thereof, valued at $46.1 million.

9. Iron crafts worth $28.1 million.

10. Machinery, appliances and electrical equipment worth $25.5 million.

The value of Emirati investments in Egypt recorded $1.9 billion during the first half of the fiscal year 2021/22, compared to $712.6 million during the same period in 2020/2021, an increase of 169.1%.

The value of remittances from Egyptians working in the UAE amounted to $3.5 billion during the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $3.4 billion during the fiscal year 2019/2020, an increase of 1.4%, while the value of remittances from Emiratis working in Egypt amounted to $39.1 million during the fiscal year 2020/ 2021 compared to $41 million during the fiscal year 2019/2020, a decrease of 4.6%.
