Taxes: The financiers of the second stage of the electronic receipt must register the points of sale before Thursday

Mokhtar Tawfik, head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, called on financiers obligated in the second phase of the electronic receipt system in accordance with Resolution No. (345) of 2022, to enter the website, to register their points of sale no later than 9/15-2022, noting that this comes within the framework of the facilities that The authority provides it to the financiers of the second phase of the electronic receipt system, instead of going to the center of major financiers to register points of sale, which leads to saving time and effort.

Mukhtar Tawfiq added that, in continuation of the facilities and support provided by the authority, the examination of POS devices will be conducted through E-Tax company, with authorization from the Tax Authority, within the locations of the companies’ points of sale. E-Tax to complete their work and register the points of sale of the financiers, pointing out that the registration and activation of point of sale devices guarantees the commitment of companies to send electronic receipts on 10/1/2022, which is the date of obligating the second stage.

The head of the Egyptian Tax Authority stressed that the failure to issue electronic receipts on the date set for the obligation will force the authority to take legal measures against non-compliant companies, which may reach referral to the Public Prosecution, and then a criminal trial to apply the prescribed penalties in accordance with the provisions of the Unified Tax Procedures Law No. 206 for the year 2020, in addition to raising the degree of risk for non-compliant companies to a high degree, and the consequent negative effects on technical support and procedural facilities provided by the tax authority to compliant companies.
