The Ministry of International Cooperation is preparing to announce the results of the move and efforts made in 3 main files during the COP27 climate conference, scheduled to start in early November in Sharm El-Sheikh, in order to promote joint action and advance comprehensive and sustainable development efforts and green transformation in Egypt.
The government, in cooperation with the World Bank Group, is scheduled to launch the CCDR Climate and Development Report, which was prepared in coordination between the Ministries of International Cooperation and Environment, the World Bank Group, and concerned national authorities. It explains the position of climate and development efforts in Egypt, and provides an analysis of climate risks and their impact on development efforts. In Egypt, the measures and policies that must be implemented over the next five years in order to increase the efficiency of the use of natural resources, reduce the effects of climate change, and enhance Egypt’s competitiveness at the global level, in light of the National Climate Change Strategy 2050.
The Climate and Development Report consists of a holistic analysis of the economic situation in Egypt, in addition to 3 main axes: water and agriculture, energy, transport and industry sector, and resilient coastal cities. It represents one of the axes of the new development cooperation strategy between Egypt and the World Bank, and its results enhance the implementation of the strategy. National climate change priorities and the priorities of the Egyptian state and support opportunities for financing and sustainable investment.
