Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, met with representatives of an Egyptian company working in the field of pump manufacturing, to discuss the company’s provision of the necessary pumps for drinking water and sanitation projects, according to the specifications required for the projects, in the presence of officials of the drinking water and sanitation utilities sector in the ministry.
Dr. Assem El-Gazzar stressed that the directives of the political leadership emphasize relying on the local product, encouraging the national industry, and working to localize the latest technologies needed by the Egyptian state in implementing various development projects, explaining that the Ministry of Housing welcomes and offers all aspects of cooperation to investors and manufacturers.
The Minister of Housing indicated that the ministry is currently participating in the implementation of the first phase of the projects of the presidential initiative “Dignified Life”, to develop the Egyptian countryside, where the bodies of the utilities sector (the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation – the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation – the Holding Company for Drinking Water) and sanitation), implementing water and sewage projects, while the Central Agency for Reconstruction is in charge of implementing service projects and a decent housing project.
Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, explained that during the meeting with company officials, they discussed the needs of drinking water and sanitation projects from pumps, and other electromechanical tasks, and the extent of the company’s ability to provide them with the required specifications, and it was agreed to hold meetings between the company.
