Since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi took over the leadership of the country, the governorates of Upper Egypt have witnessed giant national projects and unprecedented achievements in various fields and sectors, including industrial, agricultural, social and urban sectors, which helped improve the level of services provided to citizens, to bid farewell to years of suffering, neglect and marginalization.
Under the guidance of the political leadership, the Egyptian state succeeded in pumping large investments in the infrastructure sectors that are linked to the urgent needs of citizens, raising the level of coverage with sanitation and drinking water services, raising the efficiency of local roads, covering canals, and establishing many service facilities and facilities with a total investment of 16.13 billion pounds. And 4119 completed and ongoing projects.
387 projects have been completed and operated in Upper Egypt in the infrastructure sectors. Out of the total investments of the Local Development Program for Upper Egypt, approximately 2 billion and 867,704 million pounds, in the sectors of sanitation, roads, transportation, drinking water, electricity, lighting, environmental improvement, urban development, and support Local economic development projects, developing and raising the efficiency of local units, supporting and developing technological centers, supporting mechanical campaigns, supporting the community services system, and developing the health system. About 5.8 million citizens in the targeted governorates of Upper Egypt have benefited from the program.
